- System design, installation review, operator training and startup for a complex R-22 field-erected refrigeration system. This consisted of multiple equipment skids totaling 2,700 HP with a two-stage compression system, utilizing three-stages of liquid refrigerant cooling, and a large thermosiphon oil cooling system.
- Design concepts for a field-erected 6,000 hp two-stage compression propylene refrigeration system with shell & tube heat exchangers, thermosiphon oil cooling and various pressure vessels.
- Study for ultra-low temperature refrigeration systems and insulated structures used in engine and machine testing. 600 Ton three-stage ammonia, liquid overfeed systems using hot gas defrost, screw compressors, thermosiphon oil cooling, evaporative condensers.
- Design evaluation for low temperature refrigeration systems and insulated structures used in testing of air-cooled HVAC products. Capacity range from 200 Tons at –20°F to 700 Tons at +40°F using R-22 liquid overfeed system, hot gas defrost and screw compressors were reviewed. This included the evaluation of thermosiphon operation to provide chamber cooling to temperatures of +130°F.
- Proposed design development of a hybrid thermosiphon system using R-134a for heat recovery in the ventilation system of a 5-story research laboratory building.
- Evaluation of cold test cell for low temperature durability and cold start testing of gasoline and diesel engines. Improvements in operation and safety were reviewed to include the use of desiccant air driers to prevent snow and ice accumulation during engine operation.
- Design evaluation of thermosiphon system for heat recovery in ventilation system of sheet metal manufacturing area.
- Energy use and capacity evaluation for a large ammonia engine room (~17,000 HP) used by a meat processing facility. Provided analysis and study of refrigerant pumping system for 1,200 Ton liquid overfeed system at 0 psig.
- Multiple evaluations have been performed for proposed system revisions to optimize system performance with significant reductions in energy use.
- Development project for an environmental product testing chamber using CO2 as a refrigerant to achieve the -60°F test condition.
- Development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for ammonia refrigeration system owned by a protein processing manufacturer.
- Operator training seminar for plant personnel focusing on the basics of refrigeration and application of those principles to the facilities refrigeration system.
- Project design concepts for optimized ammonia refrigeration system using a critically charged system to achieve very low discharge pressure operation.
