Experience With Industrial Refrigeration Systems
Our technical experience has been gained from active participation in an extensive variety of refrigeration processes including food cooling and freezing requirements, environmental product testing, and commercial/supermarket refrigeration systems.
Our experience also includes process refrigeration systems, which have stringent requirements and operational duties. From this we can offer in-depth examinations of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), redundancy in control systems, and analysis of cooling requirements and equipment capabilities.
The range of systems includes single, multi-stage, and economized operation with single refrigerants using ammonia, HCFC’s, HFC’s, CO2, and various hydrocarbons. Additionally, we have been involved in the use of multiple refrigerants for ultra low-temperature cascade refrigeration systems.
This wide range of system requirements includes the use of the following components or subsystems:
- High pressure air and gas cooling
- Liquid chillers-flooded & DX
- Environmental test chambers
- Screw compressors
- Reciprocating compressors
- Shell and tube heat exchangers
- Refrigerant piping
- Liquid overfeed systems
- Air units & defrost strategies
- Evaporative condensers
We have also been directly involved in the development of specialized refrigeration systems including:
- Thermal storage heat pumps
- Thermosiphon cooling systems
- Mobile refrigeration systems
- Field erected systems
- Multi-skid equipment packages
- Prototype systems
